American Hospital 1 is the founding stone of the largest and most modern private hospital structure in the country, American Hospital.

American Hospital 1, the first private hospital in the country, started operating in December 2006. It all started with Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, a department that was missing in the country at the time, with the recruitment of experienced foreign professionals. The aim was to save lives and serve Albanian patients and the ones from the region. In less than one year, the flow of cardiac patients leaving Albania for cardiac problems was reduced to 85%. Following this success, the American Hospital quickly expanded its activities, focusing primarily on general surgery, orthopedics, eye surgery, urology, etc., to reach the full capacity it has today.
